Little Amp, Big Sound!
You can expect nothing less from the Blackstar HT5 MKII and HT20 MKII, a lovely combination of both vintage and modern tones that anyone would be awed by.
Being a popular line of Blackstar Amplifiers, the HT Series amps are known for its fantastic low wattage, a true tube tone and a really portable package. However with the HT20 MKII being so big in size it was missing what the market was looking for today, something much more portable.
That's where the innovative Blackstar comes in, taking the HT20 characteristics, reducing it in size to be the HT5 and viola, there's an easily portable amplifier and you still get that great sound and all features that its alternative big brother has to offer.
What do you get?
The amazing boutique clean, classic sound and super high gain is one of the superb experiences and features that you can totally explore. The enjoyable backing control with a British kind of tone plus a little tweak, can also achieve an American aggressive, modern tone. This little beast also offers a 3-band equalization setting and 1x12 / 4x12 voicing speaker emulation. The unit is also capable of lower reduction from 5 watts to 0.5 watts (20 watts to 2 watts for HT20 MKII) without losing any tone feel or valve reliability, In addition, the modern world capability has been met with its Stereo USB audio for direct recording valve tone.
If you're looking for anything smaller there is always the HT 1 MKII to take a look at.
All in all both Blackstar HT20 MKII and HT5 MKII are great amplifiers and deserve the recognition that they get.
