The formula for the shells now is 4-ply Birch (outer) combined with 2-ply African Mahogany (inner). Manufactured using Pearl's Superior Shell Technology method, the Session Studio Select drum shells exude superior resonance and rigidity; like as if the shell was made out of a single ply.
Complementing this fantastic kit is a superb set of shell hardware which includes SP30 bass drum spurs with spring loaded retractable spike, Session-style RL Lugs, bridge-style LB40 Floor Tom Brackets, OptiMount four-point tom suspension mounts, R40 Air Suspension Floor Tom Feet, Die-Cast Bass Drum Claws, and Superhoop II Triple-Flanged Hoops.
